Riyad Al Moussika is situated in the heart of the ancient medina of Marrakech, just a short five minutes walk from the world famous Jemaa El Fna Square. The riad was once one of the residences of the former Pasha of Marrakech, Thami El Glaoui, and, in keeping with this glorious history, has been refurbished to a very high standard in the traditional Andalucian style.

Despite being located in the heart of the bustling medina, the idyllic setting of this traditional riad offers a space of tranquillity and calm all set to the backdrop of tweeting birds and the gentle trickling water. The gate of Riyad Al Moussika opens onto a beautiful garden where old cypress trees soar into the clear blue Moroccan sky, a huge bougainvillea climbs across the pergolas, water falls from a white Carrara marble fountain, and a 13m Andalucian basin swimming pool, tiled with a mosaic carpet design, sweeps across the courtyard.

Set in white marble, the on-site Turkish bath or hammam continues the luxurious design and tranquil ambience. Here, on request, a professional masseur can take care of the guests. A fireplace gives the winter evenings a cosy atmosphere, as do the impressive modern paintings, carpets, sofas and armchairs. There is a hi-fi system and an art deco Pleyel grand piano perfectly tuned for the pleasure of the guests.

Sheltered with wooden pergolas and surrounded by large terracotta flower vases, the riad’s two terraces offer a unique view of the medina rooftops and the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. Tables, comfortable armchairs with cushions and teak chaises-long allow guests to enjoy our terraces from breakfast to their candle lit dinner, as well as to sunbathe during the day. The terrace also hosts a pavilion with Moroccan sofas, cushions and lamps should some of the guests prefer a more intimate space.

At Riyad Al Moussika we offer our guests breakfasts, a range of aperitifs and, for an extra special dining experience, why not visit the riad’s haute cuisine Restaurant, “Pepe Nero”. The resident Chef, Grand Diploma Cordon Bleu, has devoted his life to gastronomy and invites lovers of fine dining to experience his repertoire of Moroccan, Italian and French cuisine.

There are six double bedrooms at Riyad Al Moussika, all with ensuite bathroom. All rooms are have air-conditioning/heating system, telephone with external line, television with the major satellite channels (BBC, CNN etc.), internet wireless connection is available and DVD in the music room.
