"a luxury, country retreat in the foothills of the Atlas, set in 4 hectares with olives trees and well-kept gardens"
The Capaldi is a luxury, country retreat in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, 35-40 minutes drive from Marrakesh. The hotel has 23 rooms with nine different room catergories. Set in 4 hectares with olives trees and well-kept gardens, the hotel offers a relaxed environment where everything is individually designed with the hotel guests in mind. Two pools (the smaller one is always heated in winter), an international cuisine restaurant, intimate spa and private cinema are just some of what is available.
The Capaldi's mission is to make your stay exactly what you would wish for. The rooms have king-size beds as standard, fireplaces (lit on request in the winter months), build-in wardrobes, central heating and en-suite shower/bathrooms – a harmonious combination of rustic country touches, contemporary design and Moroccan influences. Breakfast is served in the communal lounge area by the fireplace, or if preferred on the larger roof terrace overlooking the mountains. There are numerous places for guests to relax, whether by the pool bar, the salon or library.
There are two outdoor covered loggias with firpelaces and other shaded areas to relax in. There is also plenty of room for sunbathing with sunloungers and parasols by the pool areas. All the en-suite bathrooms have showers with Italian fittings and finished in a local polished plaster called ‘tadelakt’. The hotel’s restaurant serves excellent local cuisine, Mediterranean dishes and international specialities. Vegetarian and other dietary requirements are well catered for. The cinema offers free screenings for guests (booking required) and there is a large library of new movies and old classics to choose from. The Cinema is also available for private screenings and presentations.
There are excursions from the hotel, including an excellent half day walk with a local mountain guide, dune buggying, camel-riding and horse-riding. Walks from the hotel can also be arranged to the nearby lake at Lalla Takerkoust.

Restaurant & bar
The restaurant & bar decor is contemporary with a Moroccan twist. The menu also reflects this, created by our French chef with influences from around the world. We use seasonal and mainly local produce in all our menus. Our garden provides us with many herbs and salads found locally in Morocco as well as some more unusual varieties.
Double sided fires, intimate seating corners and a sliding glass roof help to create an atmosphere of laid back sophistication.
The restaurant roof terrace has panoramic views of the mountains, a great place to enjoy cocktails watching the sunset.

"Just back from a short trip to The Capaldi. Flight takes 3 hours from Dublin (Ryanair fly twice a week). We fell totally in love with this place, had our own private Swimming pool, and then 2 others to use as well. Breakfast each morning on the terrace, and I normally don't do breakfast. Dinner was delicious and service was professional. Wish I could have stayed longer... Let's hope we make it back soon. one word to describe the hotel AMAZING. Thanks to Tara and Edward for their hospitality. Until next time..."
"We had stayed at the Riad Capaldi in Marrakech and then went The Capaldi close to the atlas mountains. It is only a 45 minute taxi transfer which the Riad arranged for us. And at the end of our stay less then 45 minutes back to the airport.
The Capaldi is set in large grounds with beautiful gardens and lots of birds. There are about 25 rooms in bungalows and a few 2 story buildings. If you are in the 2 story buildings, stay on the top floor for more sun and better views. We stayed in Farmhouse superior on the 2nd floor which was wonderful. A huge bedroom/lounge with an enormous bathroom and the biggest terrace we have ever had with our own sunbeds, table and chairs.
A great place to stay and thoroughly recommended."
"We have just returned from 7 days in the Capaldi, the hotel and grounds are just amazing and Ed and Tara and their staff could not have done enough for us.
If you are looking to chill and have wonderful quality meals, wine and service this is the place for you.
Dinner prices and wine prices are mega reasonable, and the quality of food received is underpriced in our opinion but happy to pay it.
The chef is very adventurous with some of his dishes but the taste is superb.
We will definitely return for another few nights later in the year."
